I.......Forgot to raise my coilovers before snow hoonage was possible. I'll make a valiant effort to hoon effectively though. Quattro can't fail me now.

meh, I've never raised mine for Winter. I'm lower than that. Just watch for big ice chunks and you'll be fine.

It's my first year with them, it's very low right now and I planned on raising it up about an inch but never got around to it.

Ya it was my plan too, but not worth the effort

i didn't even bother putting my Winter tires on this year, been too mild to worry about it.

Damn, love flat fives. Looks perfect. And the whole car for that matter, haha.

I also planned on winter tires, but already had all season Pirellis so didn't bother with that either. I'll probably plan better next year.

Thanks. I have Winter rubber on my stockers but I haven't driven to the ski resorts at all this season, been taking the Subie instead. The all seasons on the fives have been good enough in the 3 storms we've had so far. I took this shot at Winter Park last season.

Still looks quite nice! The S4 stockers are '17s right?

I've been contemplating swapping swapping my A4 with the 2.7TT from the S4 before, but I'd rather go for the 4.2.

Yep the stock are 17x7.5 and the fives are 18x8.5. What gen is your A4? B6 4.2s are more expensive to maintain than the 2.7 which is scary. Look up the part list for a timing chain service on those 4.2s, it runs upwards of 3 grand, for just the parts. And on the B6 4.2s the chain is in the back of the engine meaning you'll need to pull it to do the service. Aside from sound the 4.2s are kinda poopy.

It's the 4.2 before the B6 S4 grenading happened. From the A8 or A6.

I've got a pre face lift B5. Currently with the 2.8.

Turbo VR6 would be my swap of choice. Or AAN 5 cyl turbo from a C4 S4. No point in a 2.7t swap in to a B5 since B5 S4s are so damn cheap now anyway. It'll be cheaper to just buy the S4.

That was what I was thinking. The only reason why I'd vaguely consider it would be cheaper insurance.
